A baby hair diamond is a real, certified diamond infused with DNA from your baby’s first haircut. A small lock of hair with the root attached is enough, and the infusion takes about an hour.
A first haircut happens once. Most families put the lock in an envelope and lose track of it. A diamond turns it into something you can wear, and one day pass to your child.
What you need
A small lock of hair with the root follicle attached. Gently pulled hairs or naturally shed hairs keep their root; hair cut with scissors usually doesn’t. If you’re unsure, send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you part with anything.
Ideas families love
- A pendant for mum, set with a diamond from the baby’s hair
- Both parents’ DNA and the baby’s in one stone
- A diamond kept loose in its box, to give your child on their 18th or wedding day
- Sibling diamonds as each child arrives
How the day works
You choose the diamond, place the hair yourself, and watch the infusion. It takes about an hour, and you take the diamond home the same day with its IGI or GIA certificate, a DNA Origin Certificate and a keepsake film. Read what happens when you visit the lab.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use hair cut with scissors?
Usually not, because cut hair has no root. Gently pulled or naturally shed hairs work better.
Can we add both parents’ DNA?
Yes. Many families combine the baby’s hair with both parents’ in one stone.
Is it a real diamond?
Yes. It is a lab-grown diamond graded independently by IGI or GIA.
